Clocking out, locking in
As you get older, you can’t play games until the sun is peeking through the curtains anymore. We have jobs, children, or even desires for a social life to contend with. Cyberpunk 2077 is wonderful when you can beat it in a couple of weeks, less so when it takes months of chipping away at it.
Ultimately, I’ve always liked completing things and moving on to the next. Constant discoveries. New adventures. That can’t happen when you’re inching through Elden Ring. I’m not alone. People who want a social life or have families find forever games exhausting. So, why not try to hunt down all the worthwhile games you can beat in 20 hours or less? Let’s claim back variety and see the credits roll more often.
Here for a good time, not a long time
Here’s how it’s going to work. Over time, the site will become a collection of game reviews for anything you can beat in less than 20 hours. That way, you can check if something’s worthy of your evenings. Recency doesn’t matter. Just because something came out in 2017, it doesn’t mean it’s not worth playing now. As long as it’s available on a modern console or PC, it counts.
Additionally, since we all have different needs and constraints, I’ll break them all down into the following hour brackets:
- 0-5 – The Daily
- 6-10 – Weekly special
- 11-15 – Lazy bank holiday
- 16-20 – Long weekender
Who am I?
Good question. My name is Stephen. I’ve had the privilege of working in the games industry since 2019, enjoying every minute of it. Predominantly, I work at Pocket Gamer, a site dedicated to covering all things mobile. Beyond that, I’ve freelanced at sites like Gamepur and Into Indie Games. That gives me a wealth of experience to pour into this new venture.
